A meandering, coastal clifftop garden weaves its way through built structures.

Details

A landscape that feels both connected to its dramatic setting and closely integrated with the architecture.

The planting palette is deliberately simple yet highly effective, drawing on a restrained selection of New Zealand native species. Clouds of Muehlenbeckia emerge through a soft carpet of carex grasses, while groves of nikau and flax introduce texture and movement against the established forms of the Pōhutukawa trees.

The result is a naturalistic garden that feels at home in its coastal environment, balancing structure and softness while allowing the architecture and surrounding landscape to remain central to the experience.
